Week 9 Reading Reflection

What surprised me about this reading was when the author addressed how recently, marketers changed their focus and made their efforts much more customer-oriented. It made me think about what their approach was before if they're now turning to customer oriented. The marketing strategy that confused me the most was that some marketers believe penny differences in prices attract more customers. I've never noticed how prestigious items end in an even number and common goods end in an odd number. A question I would ask the author is, why haven't marketers always focused on the consumer, why are they changing now? Another question I would ask is, does the author really believe that penny differences in prices truly attract more customers? I didn't really disagree with anything the author wrote, I just question a couple things.
